Re:VERSION

An independent music video series and online platform, Re:VERSION brought live performances into public and unexpected spaces to create a raw and immediate connection between artists and audiences.

As artistic director and videomaker, I led the project from concept to execution: scouting locations, preparing shoots, and filming and editing each session. Each video was captured handheld in a single take, emphasising a sense of presence between artist, space, and viewer.
Working with a small team, we often had limited time with the musicians and adapted on the fly, inviting them to perform stripped-down, mobile versions of their songs in distinctive environments.

Launched in 2013 and running through 2016, the project captured a slice of Rotterdam’s music scene, featuring both local acts and international artists passing through the city. Over three years, we produced 78 videos, including interviews and live sessions. Some reached 80,000–145,000 views, and the platform developed a loyal audience both locally and beyond.

The full archive remains online as a creative and cultural record of that period. Artists featured include Sharon van Etten, The Garden, Dool, Patrick Wolf, The Mystery Jets, Sleepy Sun, and many others.
