Willes Events - Het Wilde Diner

Het Wilde Diner is a recurring outdoor gathering that combines foraging, cooking, and communal dining in Rotterdam's Voedseltuin. Participants explore the garden with a guide, collect edible plants and herbs, and prepare a meal together over open fire.

My photographs focus on the collective process at the heart of the event. Strangers, friends, couples, and families move through the same cycle of searching, gathering, preparing, and sharing food. Hands sorting freshly picked herbs, conversations around cutting boards, smoke rising from the fire, and the gradual transformation of ingredients into a shared meal reveal moments of collaboration, curiosity, and exchange.

Created for Willes Events, the photographs were used to communicate the atmosphere of the event, where foraging, cooking, and gathering around food become a shared experience.
