Mxrcxl - A House on a Dead End Street
Raw, intimate, and distinctly rooted in Rotterdam, this music video unfolds through fleeting metro scenes and the pulsing energy of a grungy studio performance.
Working within tight time and budget constraints, I developed a concept that was both visually striking and achievable solo. The video interweaves performance footage with shots from Rotterdam’s metro system—faces and cityscapes drifting past in a steady, anonymous flow. This contrast between focused intensity and urban detachment builds a quiet tension, echoing the song’s themes of alienation and longing. The constantly shifting train windows create a near-graphic effect, framing commuters as fleeting silhouettes. I directed, filmed, and edited the video, which was used by the band to promote the first single from their latest album.
