Anemone - Where’d you go

Blurring the line between fiction and documentary, this sun-drenched music video follows a story of friendship and budding romance.

I directed, filmed, and edited the piece, working closely with lead singer Xander van Dijk to develop a loose, intuitive concept that would let moments unfold naturally. With no formal crew and no rigid plan, I embraced an improvisational approach—moving with the rhythm of the day and capturing spontaneous moments as they happened.

Shot handheld as a one-woman crew, the music video blends 4K digital and Hi8 analogue footage. The mix of formats gives the imagery an immediate, almost nostalgic feel, layering memory and the present within the same frame. The fluid, close camera work adds honesty to the visuals, making it the right approach for a piece like this. Released on the band’s social media channels, it promoted the single ahead of the album launch.
